Volunteer Work

Are you looking for meaningful volunteer opportunities which consist of cultural immersion, volunteer service project, and travel?.

On this part, you will find professional and personalized information on voluntary work abroad. The Volunteer Work Program provides the unique opportunity to live and volunteer abroad. Volunteers will experience first-hand Peru’s rich cultural diversity while practicing their Spanish and improving human quality of life.

There are countless reasons why thousands of people volunteer abroad each year. You may start with a desire to travel, learn a new language, or meet new people. By volunteering, you’ll also have the opportunity to lend a hand to those who are working to improve life in their communities.

Through your daily work and interactions with members of a local community, you’ll gain a better understanding of the culture, as well as the issues that affect that part of the world. You’ll also learn a lot about yourself, as you take on the challenge of living and working in a completely new environment.

Living and working in another culture while giving your time and energy to do a worthwhile cause has great rewards and may enrich your life long after you return home.

Volunteer

Volunteer to Teach English - While we have volunteer teachers coming to the school to work with our children in the youth program, the volunteers don't tend to stay for more than a few weeks or months and this is extremely disruptive to the children's learning. If you are interested in becoming apart of our unique team here to teach English, we require you to stay for at least 6 months. This is so that the children get to know you and your teaching methodology, giving them a better opportunity to absorb and immerse themselves into their learning, rather that their classes being constantly disrupted by new teachers.

Volunteer - We don't often need volunteers for our Spanish School however, we are open to hear proposals if you can think of a way you would like to help. For example, you may be a drama teacher, skilled tradesperson or writer and may wish to give the children workshops.

Here are presented our current volunteers at the school:

Comment:

Teaching English to Cusco's local people was a rewarding experience. On a professional level I learnt a great deal and the students were super dedicated to their studies; well, most of them. Not all students arrive punctually and some stopped coming at all. This was difficult to understand specially when in previous weeks the same student seemed to be making huge progressing. However, one can't prioritize someone's live for them and it's hard to know what motivates people.
On occasion I have refereed football matches between English language groups at the park on Saturdays, and this was great fun and a great way for us all to interact and get to know each other out of the classroom.
A very special program with great potential!!!
