In 2007, the President Jesus Napancca and Liesbeth Walther Treasurer and Administrator are working together, yet on two different continents. Whilst Jesus is in Peru directing the school, Liesbeth is in Holland focusing on marketing and publicity for the Amigos Spanish School and Youth Program. She fundraises for Amigos attracting interest from individuals, organisations and corporate businesses, who make one off or reoccurring donations. In addition to this, she advertises Spanish classes for tourists in travel agencies, schools and at travel expositions.
This year in August/September, Jesus made a special trip to meet Liesbeth in Holland to commence a week long tour, to further spread and create public awareness of Amigos, with potential and current contacts. Jesus who has spent his whole life living in Peru, represented his country and educate the locals on the intricacies of life such as; the variation of environments; climate; politics; tourism; poverty and the reality of employment opportunities for many Amigos students. In turn, he discussed how learning to speak English at Amigos opens doors in the workforce, in particular tourism.
